CLIENT
The U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine (USACHPPM)

PROJECT NAME
USACHPPM Intranet Portal

OVERVIEW
The U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine (USACHPPM) turned to NMR Consulting to reengineer their organization's intranet website. The existing site was disorganized and inconsistent, and thus difficult to manage.

NMR Consulting designed and deployed an intranet portal based on Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003. The completely customized site manages projects within the organization, from conception to completion. Now, the intranet web site has a consistent look. Content is managed directly by more than 30 content managers. Web content can be changed easily and directly by the content owner, rather than involving a software developer.

The collaboration features of SharePoint Portal Server 2003 exceeded client expectations by providing surveys, discussion groups, custom lists, advanced searching, and email alerts.

The U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine (USACHPPM)

PROJECT NAME
USACHPPM Open Project Management System

OVERVIEW
The U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine's executive leadership had limited visibility of all active and planned efforts within the organization. The phrase "flying blind" had been used more than once to describe the situation. To remedy the problem, USACHPPM solicited NMR Consulting for assistance.

NMR designed and deployed a project management system based on Microsoft Project Server 2003 and Project Professional 2003. NMR created custom web interfaces that made project initialization easy and collected timekeeping information sufficient to feed the official timekeeping/payroll system.

USACHPPM's executive leadership now has visibility into all active and planned efforts within the organization, making business decisions easier and less time-consuming.

CLIENT
Providence Center

PROJECT NAME
Providence Infrastructure Upgrade

Providence Center's core network infrastructure was hosted on legacy hardware and software which greatly limited productivity. No disaster recovery or standard connectivity existed for any of the five satellite office locations making data sharing difficult.

NMR designed and deployed a multi-spoke VPN-distributed network hosting a thin client topology. As a result, remote sites can now quickly and efficiently retrieve shared data and communicate on common new hardware. NMR's solution reduced Providence Center's overhead expenses and standardized its workspace solution. Itinerant and new staff members can now move between offices while maintaining their familiar computer interface. Data protection is now ensured by data source relocation and daily onsite backups.

CLIENT
Air Force Association

PROJECT NAME
Air Force Association

The Air Force Association's firewall was reaching the end of its life. Additional nodes required expansion of the internal IP subnet. Backup hardware was reaching capacity and time allowance. In short, the AFA was short on time.

NMR Consulting began with a comprehensive review of the AFA's network security needs. Based upon those findings, NMRdesigned and deployed new firewall and client VPNs for secure remote connectivity, new virtual subnet schema, and a new tape library to expedite data backup and recovery.

NMR deployed AFA's new firewall with minimal downtime. The Air Force Association, included in the design and deployment of the firewall solution, was happy with their hands-on involvement and this offered lower TCO for future adjustments. The new virtual IP scheme allowed for four times as many nodes while providing traffic shaping for priority data communications, and the tape solution was integrated with zero downtime and zero data loss. Previous backup hardware investment was redeployed as a redundant solution.
